Soft Rain Sounds for Baby Sleep
The sound of steady rain on a window from a warm, cozy room. Our rain is soft and even, with gentle droplets and no thunder or sudden loud bursts.
Why parents like it
- A natural-feeling sound that many parents enjoy too.
- No thunder and no sudden loud changes.
- Softened high frequencies for a calm, cozy tone.
How to use it
- A nice choice for older babies and toddlers who like nature sounds.
- Keep the volume low and the device across the room.
- Use the same sound every night to make it part of the routine.
Every Shush Bean video shows our little bean for one minute, then gently fades to a fully black screen, so your phone or tablet gives off as little light as possible in a dark nursery.
Use sound gently
- Keep it low. Choose the lowest volume that still masks background noise. If you have to raise your voice to talk over it, it is too loud.
- Keep it far. Put the phone or speaker across the room, not in or next to the crib. Researchers who measured infant sleep machines advised keeping them more than 2 metres (about 6.5 feet) away.
- Keep sleep safe. Baby on their back, in their own crib or bassinet, with nothing else in it.

Questions
Is there thunder?
No. It is soft, steady rain with gentle droplets only.
Is this a real rain recording?
No. It is designed and produced by us so it stays smooth and seamless for hours.
Why does the screen go black?
After one minute the video fades to black so it does not light up the nursery.
